Church News

Mineral Springs will have homecoming on Sunday, May 4. Service will be from 10:30 a.m. – noon. Special music will be provided by The Capstones. Lunch will follow at noon. There will be no afternoon or evening service.

Arbor Springs will have homecoming on Sunday, May 11. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Special music will be provided by The Holcomb Sisters. Lunch will follow at noon. Also, there will be singing after lunch. There will be no evening services. Hickory Grove now has a youth / young adults drama team. They do sign language using white gloves and black lights. If you would like to schedule them to come to your church, please contact Kaye Shaw @ 375-6945.

Hebron has recently begun 2 new discipleship training classes on Sunday nights from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. One class is for children & the other class is for youth. In addition, Hebron’s pastor, Randy Gray, will be getting married to Maxie Noland on May 31, 2008.

The Heaven Bound Clowns will be performing at Pickensville Baptist Church on April 27 at 6:00 p.m.

Carrollton had their annual Spring Fling on April 20. All in attendance had a good time. The church will be in revival April 27 – 30. Gary Bowlin will be the evangelist. Music will be led by Jim Armstrong. Service times on Sunday will be at 10:45 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. They will have a short midday service on Monday thru Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Snack lunch will be served. Evening Service times Monday thru Wednesday will be 7:00 p.m.

The Pickens Baptist Association is a family of 36 Baptist congregations in west Alabama. The Association sits east of Columbus, Mississippi, and west of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It cooperates with the Alabama Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. It is a rural missions environment and has a long and proud history of sending its members out into the international missions field.
